The Women's League Flea Market and Fieldhouse Full of Awesome Stuff

Well what can you expect from a name like that! (awesomeness!) I love doing this show mostly because I get to hang out with some vendors I don't get to see a lot. This year all my favorites were there and some new ones too! I had a pretty good day hanging out with my art partner Darcy Goedecke! We shared a booth and you can't help but be inspired by all her creations!

This year I told myself I had a limited budget and shouldn't buy too much. Did I listen to myself? No! It is amazing to me what other makers create. I love supporting other artists because I know it just keeps them going and everyone I purchase from I definitely want to see around for a long time. Plus buying from small businesses just makes me feel good, and having it be something I love, can't beat that!

I walked around in the morning snapping some photos of some of these amazing small businesses. Take a look and give them support if you feel inspired to do so!

The vendors pictured are:

Darcy Goedecke, Atlas Past, Pepper Pot Polish, KV Apothecary, Libertine Tacoma Gourmet, C. Bee Designs and Lucy Nilan.

Breakfast classics done right at Martin Way Diner

One of my new favorite things to do is going out for breakfast Saturday morning with my husband. When we drop Hank the Tank (our rather large dog) off at daycare we always stop for breakfast. There is no denying that French toast is one of my all-time favorites, and Martin Way Diner has three different types of French toast to choose from. I am in Heaven!

Martin Way Diner, Olympia, Washington

I love the atmosphere, friendly staff, great coffee and oldies playing in the background. This place is no secret to our fellow Olympians and is almost always packed. My favorite French toast they serve is the Martin Way French Toast. I think one of the things that makes this French toast my favorite is that they start with fresh thick sliced French bread. Well enough of my rambling, see it for yourself!

Just looking at it makes me want to go there now! Their perfectly cooked bacon is the best compliment to this sweet main dish! Together they form best combo ever! I highly recommend trying their breakfast, you won’t be disappointed. Next on our agenda will be to try their dinner.

Next time you are on Martin Way and see the diner's open sign, stop in!

Lincoln Winter Market 2014

The Olympia vibe was alive and well at this last Saturday's Lincoln Winter Market. Thank you to everyone who came out for Shop Small Saturday at this event! It was a success and I'm grateful to all the people who made it happen! Here is just a sampling of the cool stuff you can get from makers right here in Olympia and surrounding areas.

Here is part of my booth setup!

My neighbor was Atlas Past, who I have been neighbors with at a few shows and believe me it's hard for me not to buy a million things!

I have to post something with my favorite mushroom! I just love this little woodland scene by WoodSong Felts!

Here's another one from WoodSong Felts that I just love! What does the fox say? (couldn't resist sorry!)

Olympia, you are the best!

This weekend was the Gull Harbor Art & Craft Fair and it was so much fun! I got some lovely bath soaps from The Bathtub Bakery and discovered some new favorite scents; Maraschino Cherry and Grape Soda! Check them out! I also got to share the weekend with some of my other favorite local crafters and artists! Saturday was a little slow since the weather outside was super nice for Olympia! Sunday we had more visitors and things seemed to pick up a bit. Here are some photos of the wonderful artists and crafters -- check out their stuff. I'm amazed at all the talent in one small Fire Hall!

Artist's garage sale was amazing!

Today was POSSCA's Artist Garage Sale and I am just so grateful for everyone who came out and supported this event and supported local artists. I heard that 600 people attended today! I met some great people, caught up with some of my old vendor friends and those who attended were awesome and because of them I can now produce more artwork. So I'm very appreciative to all who bought something from me today, without you I might have been discouraged to continue making my art. So thanks Olympia once again you are a supportive place to be an artist!

Happy new year!

I hope you all had a great holiday season and new years. This new years we actually had a surprise graduation party for my sister in law and it was so much fun decorating and planning. I will post some photos from the celebration below! She graduated from University of Washington hence the purple and gold!

I'm really excited for 2014 and what's in store for my photography! I have lots of ideas and new projects coming up! One thing I hope to update is my website! Look for new photography sections coming soon. Take care!

Thank you Olympia!

I had a blast on Saturday at Duck the Malls. Olympia is so supportive to local artists and makers! I feel so honored to be a part of Duck the Malls! This year, I was joined by my husband with his new endeavor, Old Spruce Mercantile! It was fun to be a part of his first show! Check out his facebook page:

Looking forward to a new year and what it will bring! Happy holidays!

Waldorf Winter Faire!

Saturday I was a vendor at the Olympia Waldorf School's Winter Faire. It was a fun event with tons of kids activities! The highlight of the event was meeting Andrew, a 7th grader, who is also a photographer! He won the youth category photo contest at the Tacoma Nature Center! Check it out here!

And you can follow him on Instagram @thisprophoto!

Looking forward to this weekend's Duck the Malls!
